NATIONAL CERTIFICATION EXAM

National Certification Exam

Gathering information is what helps the testing company create the relevant and effective assessment tools for creating test questions.

No school or entity, other than the testing company will know the test questions. Test questions will be randomly selected per test. No test will be the same. However, each test will cover the same test standards in the question pool. The testing company collaborates with subject matter experts to identify the key concepts and skills of the foot zone field. They will then create the questions based on industry standards, best practices, and learning objectives to ensure a range of question types to assess both knowledge and application effectively.

The exam company will invite all foot zone schools to participate in the national testing. All Training Programs/Foot Zone schools will be able to submit the following to identify the testing subject matter effectively:

Curriculum Outline

Curriculum outline of foot zoning, professional practices, etc. that define foot zoning, including learning objectives, and specific competencies expected.

Textbooks

All textbooks, course notes, and any other resources used in teaching the foot zone technique. (this will not be given to any schools, only to the testing company.  Intellectual property of each Training Program/Foot Zone school is protected)

Instructor Insights

Feedback from instructors about the essential skills and knowledge areas that students should master.

Assessment Framework

Information on existing assessments and how they measure student understanding and skills.

Industry Standards

Any relevant certifications or industry guidelines that define competencies required for practitioners in acupressure.

Feedback from Graduates

Insights from former students about what they found most valuable in their foot zone education, and what they feel is essential for practice

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN C.E. AND C.E.U.

The terms C. E. (Continuing Education) classes and C.E.U (Continuing Education Unit) classes refer to the different aspects of ongoing education, but they are closely related.

C.E. Classes:

  • Definition: Continuing Education classes are courses or programs designed for adults to further their education or skills in a specific field.
  • Purpose: These classes can be taken for professional development, personal enrichment, or to meet licensing or certification requirements.
  • Format: They can vary widely in format, including workshops, online courses, seminars, and more.

C.E.U. Classes:

  • Definition: A Continuing Education Unit is a measure used to quantify the time spent on educational activities. One C.E.U. typically equals ten hours of participation in an organized continuing education experience.
  • Purpose: C.E.U.s are often used by professionals to document their ongoing education and training. They can be important for maintaining licenses or certifications in certain fields.
  • Recognition: Not all continuing education classes offer C.E.U.s, but those that do will specify how many units are awarded upon completion.

Summary:

  • C.E. classes refer to the actual courses or programs, while C.E.U.s are the units of measurement used to quantify the educational experience. If you're looking to fulfill a requirement for licensing or certification, it's essential to ensure that the C.E. classes you take offer C.E.U.s if needed.
